PEOPLE living in Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba and parts of Lautoka are being urged to store water.

The warning from Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) comes in the wake of widespread flooding which have damaged pipes and pumps.

WAF said the areas affected would experience low water pressure or no supply until repairs were completed.

The interruption was a result of low reservoir levels at treatment plants and service reservoirs supplying the affected areas, caused by floodwaters damaging pipelines and pump stations and also unplanned power disruptions caused by FEA maintenance work.

Water cartage would be made available and WAF has advised all people in the Western Division to boil all drinking water.
