THE opening of the new Water Authority of Fiji office in Savusavu town is expected to boost the authority’s services to its 1,843 metered customers in the area.

In the past members of the community had to travel four kilometers to the WAF depot in Savarekareka outside Savusavu Town to pay their water bills.

Savusavu resident Jerry Ovini said with the opening of the new office in the town area people could now access billing services easily.

The new office was opened this morning by the Labasa Savusavu administrator Vijay Chand.

Officiating at the opening of the new office Mr Chand said having the customer service center brought closer to the people was an evidence of the authority’s commitment to community outreach.

“Definitely Savusavu is an area that has the potential to grow into a huge tourism destination one day,” he said.
