WAF engineer fronts court for alleged bribery

A 29-YEAR-OLD man appeared at the Suva Magistrates court today charged with one count of bribery.

It is alleged that Mohammed Shahfraaz Ali, who is the Regional  Engineer Bulk for Water Authority of Fiji, without lawful authority accepted an advantage in the form of Fiji Airways return ticket to Sydney worth AUS $1430.60 which was paid on March 21, 2017 by Sphynix Solutions Pty Ltd.

FICAC lawyer Sera Fatafehi served first phase disclosures and asked the court to impose strict bail conditions.

Magistrate Geethani Widanelage granted Mr Ali bail with two sureties who have signed a surety bond of $1000 each.

The case has been adjourned to January 28, 2019.
