Fiji’s Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa says Pinktober month is a good time to strengthen partnerships and networks to fight cancer.

Mrs Vuniwaqa made this comment while officiating as chief guest at the Pinktober cancer awareness morning tea hosted by Sai Prema Foundation Fiji in Suva today.

“Pinktober is an opportunity to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to cancer but more importantly to celebrate the lives of survivors,” the Minister said.

Mrs Vuniwaqa also encouraged men to go for check-ups and also for women to get their breasts screened regularly.
