Vunimatana eyes the tourism sector for employment

ADI Merelita Vunimatana loves and hopes to find employment in the tourism and travel sector after completing her studies at the Fiji National University.
The 19-year-old who lists her hobbies as traveling, reading and meeting people enrolled in the Fiji National University’s (FNU) TAFE Diploma in Tourism and Travel programme offered at the Nadi Campus.
“I personally love travel, and I enjoy helping people, making them happy, and seeing satisfaction on their faces. It has been my passion from a young age, and now is my time to pursue that passion and expand my knowledge and skills,” said Adi Merelita.
“I choose to pursue that career path because as a travel agent or tour manager we would know the whole country. I have always been an adventurous person who loves to travel. I want to help people find their dream vacations here in Fiji.”
“Everywhere you look, new hotels, convention centres are being constructed, tourist attractions are popping up and with increasing flights and cruise ships, the tourism industry is booming in Fiji. So I’m excited about employment opportunities after I complete my studies,” she added.
Adi Merelita is originally from Naitasiri, but resides with her family in Votualevu. She attended Votualevu College, completing Year 13 studies.
The teenager said she was excited to commence her studies at the National Training and Productivity Centre’s (NTPC) complex in Nadi.
