Former Fiji 15s and 7s rep Emosi Vucago will tag along with veteran Setefano Somoca to lead the charge for the Nadroga rugby team in defending the HFC Bank Farebrother trophy and aim to secure the 2020 Skipper Cup.

The nippy scrumhalf has been representing the Nadroga team for 14 years while Somoca has been playing for the Stallions since 2008.

Nadroga Rugby Union president Jiko Matawalu said the Nadroga team for 2020 will accommodate new and young players however he’s relying on the experienced reps to lead the way for the Stallions this season.

“This season we are looking at a new set of young players to don the white jersey in the provincial competition but we need to have some experience war horses like Somoca, Vucago, Josese Kurokavu and Sakiusa Nakalevu to name a few that could maneuver the journey for 2020,” said Matawalu.

The tenacious Vucago will be a key player for Nadroga this season as they defend the Farebrother trophy for another provincial local rugby season.

“We need a player that controls possession and is steady when the team is under pressure and Vucago has been in the system for a while to understand and control the team when they’re under pressure.

“Since we have a lot of young players, we will need the services of these experienced reps to lead the way for the Stallions especially in playoffs or double-header matches against experienced teams,” said Matawalu.

Meanwhile, other senior players that will assist Vucago and Somoca are flyhalf Josese Kurokavu, Sakiusa Nakalevu, Netani Tabua, Tomasi Lotawa, Timoci Sauvoli and Ratunaisa Navuma.
