TWO bus companies are being investigated by the Land Transport Authority for failing to accept bus vouchers.
LTA chief executive officer Naisa Tuinaceva said they received two reports last week of two companies and they would be thoroughly investigated.
“We will be going down hard on these bus companies. What they are doing is wrong and some of these drivers seem to be taking the law into their own hands,” Mr Tuinaceva said.
The law, he said required all buses to accept bus fare vouchers from students.
“All bus drivers should be warned that if they are caught doing this they will be taken to task.
“When we receive these reports we quickly go after the bus companies to catch these drivers,” he said.
Mr Tuinaceva has also urged the public to report any incident of this sort to them.
