Votoniu to return

AME Votoniu will return from suspension to strengthen Nadi against host Suva at the Courts Inter District Championship at the ANZ Stadium on Thursday.
Votoniu missed the opening match against Tailevu Naitasiri at Prince Charles Park on Saturday after picking up a red card in the last Fiji Sun/Skipper National Football League fixture.
Rahul Krishna will miss the encounter against the Capital City team as he is serving a two-match suspension.
The loss of star strikers Napolioni Qasevakatini and Rusiate Ratakele in the last transfer window failed to deter Nadi’s attack scoring four goals in the opener against newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri.
Despite the big win Nadi coach Kamal Swamy said Tailevu Naitasiri should not be counted out from the tournament.
Swamy said they were happy to kick off their campaign on a high note.
“Naitasiri played counter attacking football,” he said.
“They are not a weak team. In the last 20 minutes we rattled them because we knew that they are used to the 60 minutes game.
“For the next game we will be looking at improvements in the midfield.”
Nadi will face Suva at 7.30pm. In other matches on Thursday, Ba will face Nadroga at 1pm, Labasa will play Tailevu Naitasiri at 3pm and Rewa will take on Lautoka at 5.30pm.
