Viti Levu walkathon to raise funds for the education needs of poor children

ABOUT 30 people who are walking around Viti Levu to raise funds for the education needs of poor children have reached Tavua.

The participants from the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji (FENC Fiji) have completed more than 250km of the 475km walkathon which began in Suva on August 10.

They are being assisted by walkers from the Republic of Fiji Military Force, Ministry of Health and Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Association.

FENC Fiji financial controller Priya Preetika Lata said the walkathon target was $10,000.

The walkers hope to be in Rakiraki Town tomorrow morning.
