Visiting surgeons provide cataract services to Nadi residents

AS many as 140 people in Nadi with cataract problems have been able to access high quality eye-care thanks to a team of visiting surgeons last week.
Led by chairman of the eye department at Loma Linda University in Southern California, Dr Michael Rauser, the team carried out cataract surgeries at the Nadi Hospital.
Dr Rauser said the team was part of the Loma Linda University Health-Beeves Foundation, founded by Dr Gerald Beeves about 25 years ago.
“It’s been two years since we’ve come so what we’ve tried to do this year is to do more surgeries in a shorter amount of time,” he said.
