VUNITOGOLOA Village in Rakiraki has made it mandatory that all students study between 10am to 3pm.

This is part of the “home-study” program that has been implemented by the Vunitogoloa Students Association.

“We are very concerned about our children’s academic future and have requested all parents to fully abide by the village education committee’s COVID-19 rules,” said association president Josefa Manakiwai.

“Children are not allowed to bathe in the river or roam around the village or go to town between 10am and 3pm.

“We are not allowing gathering of students as of now but we are encouraging them to continue their home studies under parents’ and guardians’ supervision.”

Mr Manakiwai said all villages in Fiji should adopt this concept for the benefit of their children.
