THE National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) continues to urge villagers and nearby communities to stay away from the landslide area of Mount Washington – the tallest peak in Nabukelevu-i-ra, Kadavu.

The continuous seismic activity has been experienced in Kadavu since Sunday.

This is being monitored by the NDMO, Mineral Resource Department (MRD) and the Commissioner Eastern Division (CED) through the Provincial Administrator Kadavu.

Acting Commissioner Eastern Inoke Tuiwainunu has pleaded with villagers near the vicinity of Mt Washington to avoid the landslide areas and avoid diving until further advice is issued by the NDMO upon the completion of the assessment.
