Veteran Sami clinches golf title

Veteran Kumar Sami won the Fastkill Pest Control-sponsored 18 holes individual stroke championship at the FSC Penang Golf Club in Rakiraki on Saturday.
The 53-year-old returned a gross score of 66, playing rounds of 32 and 34.
“This is the first time I have played par round in the first nine and it feels good to have achieved that,” Sami said.
Nineteen players competed.
Club president Anish Chand won the first nett prize with a score of 56. The 14-handicapper carded rounds of 35 and 35, and also landed a birdie on the 12th hole.
Meanwhile, 21 handicapper Amit Gounder won the second nett place with a score of 60.
Bhupesh Dass, Aman Gounder and Mohinesh Sharma were placed third, fourth and fifth respectively in the nett division.
The nearest to pin on the 10th hole and the birdie prize were won by Jese Bale.
The club will host a Diwali tournament on Monday long weekend which is being sponsored by Pacific Energy.
