RESIDENTS in the greater Vatuwaqa area were without power for most parts of today after a vehicle took down a power pole causing the outage from early this morning.

Energy Fiji Limited acting CEO Bobby Naimawi said the vehicle collided with an EFL power pole near MGM Primary School at Rifle Range.

He said this caused a power disruption to customers in Mukta Ben Road, parts of Rifle Range Road up to Fiji Golf Club, part of Fletcher Road from Luke Street junction till Karsanji Road junction, and MGM Primary School and MGM High School.

Mr Naimawi said their teams were on site today carrying out repair works.

“EFL requests drivers to exercise caution while driving to avoid causing damage to EFL assets resulting in power outages,” he said.

The power supply was expected to have been restored this evening.
