Nadi Market Vendors Association president Lia Launimate says supply has declined significantly and vendors were not selling greens anymore because a lot was going to waste.

“We are not getting much vegetables now and most of the vendors have returned home because they don’t have anything to sell,” she said.

Ms Launimate said even supplies at the Momi junction border from Sigatoka were “very low”.

“I am sure a lot of vendors who are going to procure vegetables from the Momi border are forking out a lot in transportation costs.

“We have now resorted to selling oranges and bananas, a lot of vendors will have no other option but to close if the situation continues like this.”
