TUATUA resident, Narend Singh is a vegetable middleman in Labasa.

The 49-year-old father of three has been in this business for the last eight years.

Mr Singh said he bought vegetables from farmers in and around his area and then sells it in his makeshift stall along the roadside at Wailevu.

He said there was no problem sourcing his vegetable supplies because majority of the people living in the area were farmers.

He added he had plans to expand his vegetable business.

“I want to have a proper vegetable stall like some vendors in Viti Levu,” Mr Singh said.
