V’ball drops players

A few players have been dropped from the national volleyball team as Fiji Volleyball clamps down on non attendance in training sessions.
In the men’s team Jese Toutou and Joseva Raitala with Eseta Vosavakadua from the women’s team have been droppedbecause of failure to attend training.
Fiji White coach Tevita Lewetuitovo confirmed that the two players who were part of his initial team havd been dropped allowing the inclusion of Sakiusa Boletawa and leftie Vakacegu Walesi.
In the women’s, Fiji White women’s coach Basilio Kalokalodromu confirmed the exclusion of Vosavakadua from the team.
“Work commitment forced her to not attend training sessions thus we had to drop her,” Kalokalodromu said.
Apart from Vosavakadua, who was also part of the Oceania Women’s Fiji White team, Kalokalodromu’s side will miss the services of young Vasiti Baleilomaloma who has left for a scholarship with the New Mexico Military Institution.
Kalokalodromu added this week would see a final week of training before the team rests to recover before their big games begin on Monday, October 25.
The women’s team have already qualified for the phase two of the Women’s World Championship qualifiers and the zonal competition would be used to help their mentor polish up on areas that needed improvement.
Fiji will field two teams in the women’s division at the zonal meet with Team Blue being coached by Teresia Vocevoce and former national Kulawai rep Torika Nuku.
