Varman to keep a close tab on referees at the BOG

The Fiji Football Association referees’ director Rakesh Varman will be strict on referees who would be officiating at the 2017 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament in Labasa next weekend.
Varman said referees’ played an important role.
“We had a drill before the tournament and the match officials already know what are things expected from them and we want them to be physically and mentally prepared for the matches,” he said.
“If any referee thinks they are coming for a picnic then we will treat them like one and give them a boat to go home.
“We will also have motorbike and bicycle to take them back home.”
Varman said they were looking forward to a successful tournament in terms of the standard and how they will control each games.
“I am happy that BOG tournament is taking place within a month of the completion of the Fiji FACT and there is not much work to be done for the referees.
“I have done a refreshment course in Labasa where I have selected each cadet referees from Seaqaqa, Savusavu and eight from Labasa. There is a 15-member panel of six referees and nine are assistant referees.”
The tournament will be played at Subrail Park in Labasa from Friday.
