Vanuatu registers 5.0 mag quake

Update: 6:03PM A 5.0 MAGNITUDE earthquake occurred in the Vanuatu region this afternoon.
The Seismology Unit of the Department of Mineral Resources in Suva reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km at 4:51pm today.
It was registered at 210km North from Luganville, Vanuatu; 474km North North-west from Port Vila, Vanuatu; and 1307km North-west from Suva, Fiji.
The department noted that this offshore seismic activity did not pose an immediate threat to the Fiji region.
