The Lakeba Rugby Union is looking forward to host 2021 Skipper Cup entrants Rewa in December for a two match exhibition on the island.

“We had approached our weka in Rewa in the hopes of lifting the game in Lakeba, as well as strengthening the bonds between our two vanuas,” said Lakeba Rugby Union president Seniteteva Diloi.

Diloi said with the islands bid to enter the Vodafone Vanua Championship next year, the experience and guidance brought across by the Rewa Rugby Union would be valuable.

“With the games and the clinics planned, it will only better rugby in Lakeba as well as develop the sport.

“And with our weekly club games competition, we are looking to put forward a strong team to represent Lakeba possibly in next year’s Vanua Championship.”

Alongside coaching clinics, the exhibition matches will be held on December 4 and 16 at Tubou Village in Lakeba.
