Valuable drug haul in Tonga

NUKU’ALOFA, 15 NOVEMBER 2018 (RNZ PACIFIC) – Tonga police have charged a 41-year-old man with the possession of 464 grams of methamphetamine.

The man was arrested early on Wednesday in Kanokupolu.

The drug has an estimated street value of US$198,000

The Commander of the Central Police Station, Tevita Vailea, said the police continue to focus on capturing and prosecuting those responsible for the supply of these destructive drugs that cause harm to Tonga’s youths, families and the community.
