Vakabuli-Paipai crossing opened in Lautoka

FIJI’S Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama opened the Vakabuli-Paipai crossing in Lautoka this morning.

He said the crossing would benefit 150 households who used to be affected during inclement weather and flooding.

He said the 32m long crossing would ensure the safe passage of students, the elderly and workers in the years to come.

He said in the past year, it had been washed away numerous times.

The bridge took eight months to build and $1.6million to complete.
