THE University of the South Pacific has received a draft report from BDO Auckland pertaining to the allegations of misuse of funds by senior academics of the regional institution.

In a statement, it stated that the report had been tabled by the university’s vice-chancellor, Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

“The draft report was discussed in detail by the BDO team with the ARC and the DPC in a meeting held on the afternoon of 16th August,” the university said.

“In addition to reporting on matters mentioned in Professor Ahluwalia’s paper, BDO has made some very valuable observations and recommendations.

“The DPC and the ARC now await the final report from BDO Auckland which will be presented to the Council in its Special Meeting scheduled to be held on 29th and 30th of August 2019.”
