WOWS Kids Fiji today received $10,600 through the University of the South Pacific’s Shave a Hero, Save a Hero campaign.

USP’s vice-chancellor and president Professor Pal Ahluwalia acknowledged the institution’s Human Resources’ department for taking the lead role in organising the event.

“I believe this is a great way for us to give back to our communities, especially since we’re in the festive season,” Prof Ahluwalia said.

The initiative saw four USP staff members who were nominated and pledged to raise $1000 each to determine whether they would save or shave their hair.

USP staff Viliamu Iese and Prashila Narayan did not reach the required target but willingly shaved their hair today to show their support towards WOWS Kids Fiji.

USP also handed over gifts for the children at WOWS Kids Fiji.
