FIJI’S Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Jone Usamate has called for a collective effort from the staff of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) in improving the country’s roading infrastructure.

While addressing staff of FRA during his visit to their office in Suva yesterday, Mr Usamate said the employees played a critical role in this country because the roads, bridges and jetties were critical for the development of Fiji.

“Each staff at the Fiji Roads Authority play a critical role and the things that you do here on a daily basis makes a difference to the lives of the people of our country,” Mr Usamate said.

“As a Minister, I represent the people of this country and I need to be sure that the work that you are doing here at FRA and the way that we are doing things across the whole sector in Fiji works for the better. We should be more efficient and more effective.

“We all have a new opportunity each day to make a difference in somebody’s life by the speed in which we do things, whether we do it well or we do it badly, all these things have an impact on somebody’s life.”
