The United States has requested that an affidavit pertaining to the superyacht Amadea filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in court earlier today be dealt with in chambers.

Lawyer from the office of the DPP Jayneeta Prasad said this when the matter was called for hearing this morning in the High Court in Suva.

Ms Prasad said the US wanted the affidavit to be dealt with in chambers because it contained some confidential information about US sanctions and they requested for that information to be between the parties only and not released to the media.

The hearing continues at 2pm.
