US couple’s death in Fiji: Families want further examination

THE families of Texas couple David and Michelle Paul have revealed for the first time why they want the remains of their loved ones shipped back to the United States so they can be examined by independent forensic experts.
Michelle’s father, Marc Calanog, said it was because of a “misleading’ autopsy report, and also a report from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the “only information they said they have on her prior to her passing is two sets of vitals.”
They want to know the root causes of death and have given specific instructions that the bodies not be cremated.
The full report can be read on page 3 of today’s edition of The Fiji Times.
