Uphill battle in league clashes

This week’s fixtures:

Tavua vs Rewa

Venue: Garvey Park, Tavua.

Date and time: 3pm, Sunday, April 8

THE season newcomers have everything to play for as they take on the Delta Tigers at home. Having the protest decision (filed by Nadi) given in favour of them, Tavua officially recorded three points in the bag after beating the Jetsetters 1-0 in front of a jam-packed home fans.

Vilitati Kautoga’s last-minute screamer sent the fans into frenzy and the Vodafone Premier League has taken a break since then.

The fans would be expecting Tavua to repeat that performance and continue gaining points while on the other hand, Rewa will also be out to hunt for their season’s first victory after having only one point registered so far.

A draw in this match would have no effect on the standings while a win for either side will see the loser bowing down to last position on the points table.

Suva vs Ba

Venue: Ratu Cakobau Park

Date and time: 3pm, Sunday, April 8

THE Men in Black have bounced back to winning ways after a dismal performance in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League.

After two consecutive losses in their opening games, Ba bounced back against Rewa at the same venue to get their first win of the season.

However, after their 3-1 loss against Nadi this season, Ba filed a protest and the decision went towards their favour. Thus, Ba now has two wins with six points.

The traditional giants look forward to maintaining the winning momentum and a win against Suva this week will see them climbing up to the third place.
