Unplanned water disruption for Nasinu

Listen to this article:

THE Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is advising its customers living in the elevated parts of Suva and Nasinu that water supply will be disrupted from this morning until 6am Friday March 29, 2019.

A statement from the authority revealed that affected areas include Tovata and Wainibuku Reservoirs, Nagatugatu Reservoir, Tacirua Reservoir, Dokanaisuva Reservoir and Colo-i-Suva Reservoir.

The interruption in supply is due to a burst 600mm trunk main (which feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku Reservoir) near the Waila Water Treatment Plant.

The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

Water carting trucks will be provided to service the affected areas above.

For any urgent water carting requests, members of the public are to contact the Authority’s National Call Centre on 5777.

Water supply is expected to be normalized by 6am on Friday morning.
