A united approach will be much more effective in our fight against the pandemic, says Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry.

However, he said regrettably the FijiFirst Government was not responding favourably to such calls from civil society organisations and opposition political parties.

Mr Chaudhry said in such a situation it was best for these organisations to do whatever they could to assist by providing food and other basic amenities to the needy – things they could not afford because of the extremely depressing conditions they faced.

He claimed their call for bipartisanship had always been rebuffed by the Government.

“It makes little sense for opposition parties to continue making repeated calls for a bipartisan approach when these have been consistently rejected in the past.”
