Speaking during the 2018/2019 National Budget consultation at Sila Central High School in Nausori, the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, stated that over the past couple of decades a lot of unauthorised developments have caused considerable environmental damage (FT 26/03).
While he is absolutely correct, what is most concerning is that these unauthorised developments continue to go unchecked up here on Vanua Levu.
All one needs to do is hire an excavator and the operator will do as your wish commands.
The devastation already caused is not only obvious but indeed shocking.
We even see whole hillsides torn apart?
While it is important that we talk about it, it would be much more effective if we did something about it!
Environmental damage is happening before our eyes and yet it is allowed to continue?
