Fijiana star Reapi Uluinasau is one of seven players named by World Rugby to watch during the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournament in Toulouse, France this weekend.

The 27-year-old is named among 7s stars Michaela Blyde of New Zealand, Australia’s standout performer Charlotte Caslick, Brazilian speedster Thalia Costa, USA forward Ilona Maher, the most prolific woman on the series at the moment Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe of Ireland and Séraphine Okemba of France.

Uluinasau had yet to make her series debut when she helped inspire her country to an Olympics bronze medal in Tokyo.

Despite missing out on the tournaments in Malaga and Seville in January because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, Uluinasau has been a hit in her first season on the circuit.

In Langford, Canada she topped the DHL Impact Player table with 13 tackles, eight breaks, nine offloads and 25 carries as Fiji finished seventh.

Uluinasau scored six tries across the weekend to take her tally to 13 in only 16 matches, and she will want to finish her debut campaign on a high when the series ends in Toulouse.
