Vodafone Fiji has until next week to confirm whether it is still interested in providing e-ticketing services.

Company chief financial officer Salman Khan was told this by director of Transport Faranisese Kinivuwai at a consultation with bus operators in Nadi yesterday.

“The reason I ask this question is this is the third e-ticketing consultation that I am sitting in and there is some reluctance from Vodafone Fiji,” she said.

“There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed and they are all directed at Vodafone Fiji.

“This is the third consultation and in the second one we had it was not really clear whether Vodafone Fiji wanted to still provide the e-ticketing service.

“This is something that Vodafone Fiji will need to address Government again because if I take us back to 2017 and before that, we were part of the process of selecting a service provider.

The selection of service came down to Foneology and Vodafone apart from three others which provided their expression of interest.

In reply, Mr Khan said they would be able to come back with an answer by next Wednesday.
