UK’s Commonwealth envoy meets CSO reps in Fiji

THE United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Envoy for the Pacific, Philip Parham, met a number of Civil Society Organisations representatives today to discuss a range of issues including electoral processes, human rights, and climate change.

Mr Parham was joined by the British Ambassador to Fiji, Melanie Hopkins, at the Dialogue Fiji Office at Rewa Street in Suva.

Dialogue Fiji executive director Nilesh Lal said it was significant for international development partners in Fiji to continue to recognise the importance of CSOs and the work they did.

CSOs who were part of the meeting included the Citizen’s Constitutional Forum (CCF), Transcend Oceania, Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding, International IDEA and the Media Watch Group.
