THE Vodafone Fiji Under-16 Girls team to next month’s OFC Championship will be named next week.
Coach Marika Rodu will name a 20-member travelling squad to Tahiti and says the team in camp has been training well for the past few weeks.
“We have 25 players in camp right now. So the fight for a spot in the final team is going on. No one is guaranteed a spot in the final team and they know that,” he said.
Fiji is pooled with American Samoa and Tonga and the coach knows they cannot be underestimated.
“They’re not powerhouses in football but we don’t know what to expect from them. It’s Under-16 and these players are fresh to international football so we can’t say anything until we meet them on the field,” Rodu added.
The competition will run from December 7-20.
