POLICE have arrested two men in the Northern Division for being in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Vakacegu Toduadua said the two were arrested on separate occasions.

In the first instance, Police in Labasa detained a 30-year-old man of Nasekula Village.

“It is alleged that the suspect was found in possession of loose dried leaves suspected to be marijuana which was rolled in paper,” ACP Toduadua said.

“In Savusavu town, a 26-year-old man of Sasa Village is in Police custody after he was allegedly found in possession of loose dried leaves believe to be marijuana last night.”

Both cases are under investigation as officers await the drug analyst’s report for confirmation on whether the dried leaves are marijuana.
