Two areas of concern

Cases of COVID-19 are expected to increase in Lami and from a cluster from the police barracks in Nasinu, Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said after announcing 39 new cases last night.
He said 32 of the new cases were linked to the following existing clusters – Nawaka 6, CWMH 11, Nasinu Police Barracks 5, FICAC warehouse 3, Navy 2, Waila 2, IMT 1, Naitasiri 1 and Caubati 1.
Dr Fong said an additional seven cases were under investigation to determine if they had any links to other cases.
These cases are Lami 4, Toorak 1, Nasinu 1, and Reservoir Rd 1.
Dr Fong said seven patients have recovered, leaving 656 active cases in isolation.
Fiji has recorded 849 cases during this current outbreak that started in April.
Meanwhile, Dr Fong said 228,030 people in Fiji have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
