Vodafone Flying Fijians’ winger Josua Tuisova is happy to be back in the national squad after three years.

“I am thankful to be here training with the players,” Tuisova said.

“It had been a long three years with all the border closures and COVID measures. I was happy to be named into the squad for this Pacific Nations Cup tournament.

“I know coach Cotter had named a good mixture of players from the Drua and the Europe-based players.”

Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Jiuta Wainiqolo and debutant Vinaya Habosi scored scintillating tries in their 36-0 win over Tonga and the Rio Olympics gold medallist knows it will be tough competition between the three of them for a starting role.

“I know it will be tough going up against the two for a starting role,” Tuisova said.

“They were outstanding against Tonga last weekend and I know the coaches are aware of how dangerous they would be this week and I will try and lift my performance this week to book a spot in the run-on side.”
