Tui Namuka sworn into Parliament

TUI Namuka Ratu Tevita Niumataiwalu was sworn into Parliament today.

Ratu Tevita replaces the outgoing Opposition MP Mosese Bulitavu.

“Madam Speaker, I bring to this House the continued good wishes of my party, my voters and the chiefs and people of Macuata province by the grace of the Almighty God,” Ratu Tevita said.

In his maiden speech, Ratu Tevita paid tribute to Mr Bulitavu and labelled him an honest man.

“Mosese Bulitavu was honest, fearless, intelligent, articulate, witty and a patriot. He has left behind a legacy for the youth of this country to follow, seeking political, working for the total development and welfare of Fiji.”

Ratu Tevita thanked his people who have been supporting him.

“I wish to put on record with the sense of appreciation the hard work that was put in by my relatives and family and friends during the last general elections.”

He also thanked the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) for having faith in endorsing him as one of their candidates in the last general elections.
