Tui Namosi calls it a day – Katamotu given nod to represent province

Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua has retired from politics. And former bank manager Maciu Katamotu has been given the nod by the vanua of Nabukebuke to represent Namosi in the 2022 General Election.

But the MBA graduate who has held managerial positions at the Fiji Development Bank and Housing Authority of Fiji will not be joining the ranks of the Social Democratic Liberal Party like his predecessor.

A Bose ni Vanua by at least 50 elders and traditional leaders have decided Mr Katamotu will contest the upcoming polls under The People’s Alliance banner.

The meeting was held at Veivatuloa Village yesterday.
