Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Limited (TTS) has launched its new car rental franchise – Payless Car Rental – in response to growing demand since the borders reopened to international tourism.

With locations in Nadi and Suva, the new rental company will provide a range of Toyota cars for hire including Yaris and Corolla.

In a statement from the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX), company chairman Akira Shida said they were excited to launch the rental service.

“… It shows there is a strong demand for car hire in Fiji since we reopened to international tourists last year. We are proud to be supporting the Fijian economy and creating job opportunities for the local Fijian people,” Mr Shida said.

TTS company secretary Ronald Kumar said Payless Car Rental would commence operations initially in Suva and Nadi, and hopes to expand its fleet and locations to other areas around the country.

He said they looked forward to welcoming tourists to the island and providing affordable car hire at a fraction of the rental car pricing.
