Trio to represent Fiji to Belt and Road forum

THREE Fijian Cabinet Ministers have confirmed their attendance at the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in Beijing, China, later this month.

Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo confirmed that Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Jone Usamate and Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar have been confirmed as Fiji’s representatives to the forum.

Mr Qian said the Belt and Road initiative mainly dealt with infrastructure and trade.

He said the Chinese government was also keen on working with Fiji in the area of fisheries.
