Trio sentenced

HIGH Court judge Justice Salesi Temo today told three men who violently robbed three families in 2017 that they had shown no regard to the complainant’s rights as human beings.

Arvind Chand,Jonetani Rokotuinau and Livai Drigita on November 15,2017 stole items more than $7,000 from an elderly person’s house.

The three also entered into the house of Rohini Nandan on the said date and also stole five pairs of canvas worth $700.

The incident took place at Bau Road in Nausori.

Arvind was sentenced to 12 and half years while Jonetani and Livai were both sentenced to 13 years and two months imprisonment.

The three will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years behind bars.
