THE Fiji Labour Party says the Employment Relations Tribunal’s order for the more than 220 Air Terminal Services employees to return to resume duties within 48 hours was good news for workers who had withstood numerous challenges over the past 34 days.
“It’s a marvellous victory for the workers and I commend the magistrate for his courageous ruling,” said Labour Leader Mahendra Chaudhry.
The former prime minister said the ruling demonstrated what solidarity could achieve.
“It was a hard battle for the workers but truth was on their side.
“Now, we hope that the ATS management will accept the decision of the tribunal and work with the union to address all the other grievances of the workers that culminated in the current standoff.”
