THE Ministry of Forestry has started replanting trees at Adi Cakobau School in Sawani, Naitasiri.

The all-girls school came under the spotlight last month after the cutting down of mahogany trees at the Uluiqalau slope just beside the school.

Minister for Forestry Osea Naiqamu said the replanting of trees was conducted every Saturday.

In earlier reports, the ministry had said that it had cut down the mahogany trees beside the school after it received a report from the school that those trees posed a danger for teachers and children.
