Traffic change in Nadi’s central business district

Listen to this article:

CHANGES have been made to the route in Nadi’s central business district after a safety audit at Koroivulo Avenue, Vunavau Street, and Queens Road intersection.

And the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is advising members of the travelling public that the flow of traffic out of Koroivulo Avenue and Vunavau Street into Queens Road is now restricted to left turn only.

The FRA stated that this action had been taken to mitigate the chances of accidents after observing the driver behaviour at this intersection.

“It has been observed jointly with the Nadi Police Force that the drivers are not following the correct road rules and making accident prone maneuvers,” the FRA stated.

This action by the drivers jeopardise the safety of all road users at this location and disrupts the flow of traffic into the town, which ultimately increases the journey time for the public traveling to the CBD.

Motorists will need to use Nadi Temple roundabout to safely enter Vunavau Street from Koroivulo Avenue.

Traffic coming out of Vunavau Street will have to use Raniga Street to go to Sigatoka.
