BRAND ambassador for Tourism Fiji, Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz is in the country and visited Rampur Primary School in Navua yesterday. Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya said Fiji was fortunate and privileged to have Ileana D’Cruz.

“She is no stranger to Fiji as she had visited Fiji already. One of the reasons she is Fiji’s ambassador is that she shows a wonderful spirit when she comes here and talks about Fiji whenever she is overseas,” Mr Koya said.

He said following a successful travel log that was filmed in Fiji last year in partnership with Times of India, Fiji Airways and Tourism Fiji, she had continuously promoted Fiji on her social media channels such as Instagram which had about eight million followings world-wide.

Mr Koya said she would visit Nadi, Coral Coast, Mamanuca Group, Savusavu and Pacific Harbour and her experience here in the country would showcase Fiji to rest of the world as a destination.

D’Cruz in her message to students of Rumpur Primary School said they should always believe in themselves.

“That is something what you should always do. You will have people telling you can’t do something and not encourage you, but you are your biggest supporter,” D’Cruz said.

She also said she wanted to visit Fiji again.
