Tough semi-finals for Nasinu

THE Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby Football Union will be expecting a tough semi-final today.

For the Ram Sami Premier grade, Newtown will play Tacirua while Uluinakau will meet Bulavou at the Assemblies of God High School ground.

Union president Paula Biu said in the Fiji Rugby Union-sanctioned Vodafone Vanua Challenge, Nasinu finished in second position in the under-20 while the senior grade finshed fourth.

“Our senior team has missed out on the semi-finals,” Biu said.

“This result is exceptional considering this being our first year of participation in the FRU domestic competition. We have achieved our second objective in our five-year strategic plan.

“This has set our platform for our continuous involvement in the FRU competition in the years ahead.

“We announce our major and official sponsor, Rami Sami & sons (Fiji) Ltd who has come on board at a crucial time for the union to assist in developing grassroots rugby in Nasinu. They will be our sponsors for the next three years,” he said.

This weekend’s game will be exciting to see the battle of four top teams as to who will walk away as the new champion.

In the Wallson Senior B grade competition, Vatuwaqa will play Senicevuga and Navosai will take on Tovata.
