WAIKATO – Former Chiefs centre Bundee Aki slapped with three-match ban for abusing referee.
This is during his Irish club Connacht’s 37-24 Pro12 defeat to Leinster on April 15.
The suspension means Aki, who played for the Chiefs from 2013 before joining Connacht in 2014, cannot play for Pat Lam’s side until May 22.
Aki, 27, received a warning about his behaviour from Davies in the 76th minute before further remonstrating with the Welsh referee after full-time.
The former Counties Manukau centre, who won 26 Chiefs caps, will be eligible to represent Ireland under the three-year residency rule in October.
