Top dollar on offer at Hautabu race

TWENTY horses are expected to compete for the $1000 prizemoney today at the Hautabu race course in Navosa.
Chief organiser Marika Nagata said there had been a big interest after Naqiroho won a fortnight ago.
“Big names like Babasiga Mission ,Hautabu from Maro and of course Naqiroho are all expected to take part.
“With the schoolchildren taking a break from school, we are expecting are big crowd,” said Nagata.
He added, there were other horses that had yet to win a race but had been racing regularly in Hautabu.
“Locals are also beneffiting from the race in selling fresh food from their foodstalls and earning money from spectators. “We are expecting a bigger crowd and Fijians from all ethnic background are mingling well and enjoying the show,” he said.
